WHY FRED DENT
Fred Dent currently serves as the chairman of the Worth County Commissioners, a post he has held for eight years. Previously, he served as a county commissioner for 16 years. With this extensive experience comes incredible knowledge on how to run Worth County efficiently in the citizens' best interests.

Recent accomplishments include:

Returning Worth County to economic stability

Taking over the EMS Service from Grady, increasing the number of ambulances from two to five (four emergency, one for hospital transfers) to deliver increased levels of service

Upgrading of equipment for our local Fire Department

Increasing salaries in the Sheriff’s office to make Worth County more competitive with surrounding counties

Upgrading equipment at Public Work’s to ensure better efficiency in maintaining the roads

Completing a new recreational complex offering four new baseball fields and plans to build a new soccer field

Resurfacing of nearly 100 miles of road in the last four years

Building of new Post 40 State Patrol office in Sylvester for enhanced safety (soon to be completed)

The upcoming purchase of new CAD (radio) system for E-911 for upgraded communications and assistance in emergency situations

Continued support for recreational programs for our children

Continued support for Best Friends Humane Society

Plans are underway to build a new county jail
